William Curtis Wallace, 65, of Mansfield, passed away at his home Sunday May 29th, 2022.
Curtis was born in St. Joseph, Missouri December 19th, 1956, and was the youngest son of Thomas E. and Wanda B. Wallace. He attended Mansfield Junior High, Mansfield High School and graduated from Yukon High School, in Yukon, Oklahoma in 1975.
He married Mary Dodson on November 23rd, 1985 in Mansfield, and their beloved son Zachary was born July 28th, 1991.
He enlisted in the United States Air Force (USAF), honorably serving until October 1980, achieving the rank of Sergeant. He was awarded various citations and the USAF Commendation Medal. He served as a Senior Explosive Ordinance Disposal Technician (EOD), serving at many different military facilities in the U.S. and Germany.
After military life he was employed by the Texas Youth Commission at the Gainesville State School as a Youth Activities Supervisor, supervising delinquent youth; later becoming a Dorm Supervisor. In 1990 he began employment with Web Converting, and quickly became the "go-to guy." During his 25-plus years with Web he was involved in various major projects, and served in managerial/administrative positions in Arizona and Texas.
Curtis and his family loved traveling throughout the USA, visiting and camping at many of the National and State Parks.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wanda and Tom.
Survivors: Wife of 36 years, Mary; beloved son, Zachary; brother Allen; and mother-in-law Elizabeth; 2 uncles David and Delbert, (MO); 1 aunt Kathleen Milligan (NC); and numerous nieces,nephews,cousins, and other relatives.
In lieu of flowers: The family asks that contributions in memory of Curtis may be made to the Alzheimer's Assn., American heart Assn., Disabled American Veterans, or Operation Kindness.
