William Walter Godwin, Jr., 74, of Arlington, Texas, passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2015 in Round Rock, Texas..
William was born in Fort Worth, Texas on June 18, 1941, the son of William Walter Godwin, Sr. and Ann Elizabeth Smith Godwin. He graduated from Northside High School with the class of 1959. Bill was a veteran of the United States Navy. He lived in Japan and was employed by Bell Helicopter following his discharge from the Navy. William married Sharon Ann Frost on October 23, 1981 in Fort Worth, Texas. He worked in the automobile sales business in Tarrant County for over 30 years, retiring from Luke Honda in 2001. Following his retirement he was a fulltime cook and stay at home dad.
He enjoyed fishing, traveling, sometimes the Cowboys and sometimes the Rangers. Most of all Bill liked spending time with family and golfing. He was a member of Walnut Creek Country Club and the Retired Couples Golf Group. He spent every Wednesday morning with his two childhood friends, David Brown and Douglas Pittman. He was a founding member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Arlington.
Survivors include his Wife of 33 years, Sharon Godwin; son, Justin Godwin and his fiancé, Jamie Malicoat; parents in law, James and Roberta Frost; brothers in law, Mike Frost and wife, Rita, Patrick Frost and wife, Maritza; and numerous nieces and nephews.
