William (Bill) R. Denney, 80, a devoted husband, father and grandfather entered into eternal rest on Saturday, September 5, 2015.
SERVICE: 12:30 p.m., Friday, September 18, 2015 at Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery.

Bill was born in March of 1935 in Dallas to Roy and Ruth Denney. He was one of four brothers and attended Adamson High School in Oak Cliff. He served his country in the Naval Reserves and the Marines. After working many years as an electrician, he started his own company, W.R. Denney Electric.
All through his life, he was there to lend a hand and always help others. Bill was an active member of the United Methodist Church. He served on the Red Oak ISD School Board and was instrumental in the incorporation of Oak Leaf, TX and served on the City Council. With a well-deserved early retirement in 1993, Bill was able to fully enjoy his family. He and his wife, Ida, built a mountain home in New Mexico and enjoyed travels and being an active member of his community. As an avid golfer he enjoyed countless days on the golf course with many of his golfing buddies. Bill has joined in heaven his parents and his brother, Jesse Denney.
SURVIVORS: Bill is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ida M. Denney; brothers, Roy Denney and Joe Denney; children, Rick Blakes and wife, Sherry, Bill Denney Jr. and wife Teresa, Pam Meyerand husband Jeff; grandchildren, Heather Mitchell and husband Andrew, Brian Denney, Mark Denney and Hanna Meyer.
