Wayne Vanderlinden age 80 of Mansfield went peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, March 28, 2022. He was born October 5, 1941 to Harry and Ruth (Van Welden) Vanderlinden in Chicago, Illinois. Wayne was a proud veteran, serving his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was an Indiana Hoosier, obtaining an associate’s degree which led him into a career in marketing.
Wayne loved music, especially the drums. He received his first drum set at just 8 years old and carried his passion through life being admitted to the prestigious Julliard. He loved horses and spent time as a farrier and helping handicap children learn to ride. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, working in his yard and all things beautiful. The most beautiful thing to Wayne was the love of his life, Earlene. Wayne was a member of the Creekwood Church in Mansfield where he was a faithful volunteer.
Wayne and Earlene (Wilks) married for over 46 years together built a truly beautiful life. Above all things, Wayne loved his family the most. He was endearingly known to his children and grandchildren as Popie.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife, Earlene; daughters, Terri Roberts and husband Charley and Vicki Manning and husband Mark; grandchildren, Trystan Roberts and wife Brandi, Schnee’ Orosco and husband Joe, Amber Bryant and husband Josh, and Dustin Manning and wife Theresa; great-grandchildren, Victoria, Lyfe, Atlas Wayne, Valor, Jaxson, Benjamin, Weston, Stella Rae, and Boss.
A Memorial Service will be held April 1, 2022 at 2:00PM at Creekwood Church in Mansfield.
