Wanda Elrod Deaver

Wanda Elrod Deaver, age 85, of Kennedale, Texas, was called home to be with the Lord on December 17, 2023. She was born on October 22, 1938, in Tarrant County, Texas, to the late Samuel Isaac “Dutch” Elrod and Kathleen Mooney Elrod.

Wanda is survived by her loving children, Connie Cross and her husband Dave, David Deaver and his wife Cathy, and Luanne Ferree and her husband Donny. She was a cherished grandmother to Mark Cross, Valerie Ferree Collingwood, Isaac Deaver, Daniel Cross, Samuel Deaver, Joshua Deaver, Randall Ferree, and Jacob Ferree. She was also a proud great-grandmother to 13 great-grandkids. She leaves behind her sister, Sharon Gilley, as well as, numerous nieces and nephews.

Wanda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George Deaver, granddaughter Robin Deaver, brothers Hubert Elrod and Sonny Elrod, sister Betty Jean Elrod Bass and daughter-in-law Cindy Collier Deaver.

Wanda attended Kennedale and Mansfield High Schools and went on to have a fulfilling career. She was a long-time employee and retired from the Kennedale Independent School District, where she made a positive impact on the lives of many students and colleagues.

Wanda (Mom, Grandma, school bus Grandma and GG) will forever remain in our hearts, and her memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her. May she rest in eternal peace.
