Wallace Clark Craig passed away at the age of 85 on September 6, 2012 in Mansfield, Texas with his family at his bedside. He was dearly loved by his family and friends, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. His life began on July 17, 1927 in Shawnee, Oklahoma, son of Bonnie and Clark Craig. He attended the University of Oklahoma with a degree in Finance. Afterwards, he attended the Arizona International School of Trade. He joined Sinclair Oil and moved to Venezuela, South America as a field manager. While in Venezuela, he and his wife Rita began their family of 4 and they lived there for 10 years, creating wonderful memories for their children. In 1965, Wally moved his family to Rolla, Missouri. There he worked for the University of Missouri Rolla for over 25 years as a finance officer until he retired. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and the Optimist Club. Wally dedicated many hours to others in club events and volunteer positions. His club efforts were recognized in his attainment of various positions including Missouri Optimist Lieutenant Governor. Some of his most memorable volunteer events to him were coaching tennis and soccer and selling Christmas trees for the Optimist fundraiser. He loved Rolla and his many friends, but moved to Texas to be closer to his children and grandchildren in 2010. Wally had a great sense of humor, was a devoted father and grandfather, and the lives of those around him were enriched by knowing him.
