Virgil Bullard

MANSFIELD -- Virgil Lee "Sonny" Bullard passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at the age of 85 in his home in Mansfield.        Service: 11:15 a.m. Friday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. at Blessings Funeral Home in Mansfield.        Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, Box 758517, Topeka, Kan. 66675, or woundedwarriorproject.org.        Sonny was born May 1, 1927, in Littlefield to Clifton C. Bullard and Beulah Robinson. His oilfield career took him around Texas to Columbia and Venezuela, until he retired to spend the rest of his time being a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be remembered for his love of the Texas Rangers, overalls, hunting and fishing, and his dry sense of humor.        Survivors: His wife of 64½ years Betty Bullard; three children; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous friends.
