MANSFIELD -- Victor Mario Valdes, 89, of Mansfield met his Lord face to face on September 6,2012. He spent his last moments at home surrounded by loved ones. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mansfield Wesley Mission Center. Victor, the oldest of 12, was born November 16, 1922 in Uruapan, Michoacan, Mexico to Mauro and Maria Valdes. He studied art with Carlos Ruano LLopis before moving to Fort Worth and receiving his BA in art from Texas Wesleyan College in 1951. Victor was an accomplished early Texas artist and shared his skill of art with others as an educator. He received his Masters in Education from Texas Womens University and retired from Forth Worth ISD in 1992. Victor loved God deeply. He also enjoyed painting, reading, travel, sharing stories of his many adventures, and was the happiest when spending time with family and friends. Survivors: Victor is survived by the love of his life and wife of 45 years Lorraine Valdes, his sons Hayden Valdes, Victor Valdes, Chester Valdes, daughters, Kether Wilson, Abi Landry, Keziah Farrar, stepchildren, Kenneth Heikkila, Lucinda Valdes, Linda Young, siblings, Elamuel Valdes, Raquel Mina, Abiasel Valdes, Febe Romero, Hiram Jesse, Kether Mendieta, 29 grand children, 17 great grandchildtren, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Mauro and Maria Valdes and siblings Anamel Jesse, Hiram Albaser, Joel Valdes, Moremil Barrieta and Maumar Valdes.
