Pastor Vernon Maxwell Jones Jr.

Pastor Vernon Jones, age 76 transitioned into the gates of heaven on March 3, 2021. He was born in Alameda California to Vernon and Fannie (Breaux) Jones on Saturday, November 4 1944. Pastor Jones was a man after God's own heart. His charismatic spirit made a lasting impression on all those he encountered. His mission in life was to go into the earth to preach the gospel and save the lost. Pastor Jones had a great compassion for young people, and used every opportunity to impart wisdom into the lives of others. One of Pastors most memorable messages reminds us to “Frame Our World With The Word of God”.

He is preceded in death by his parents, three siblings, Marvin Jones, Myrna Jones, Cheryl Jones, and granddaughter Kayla Danyelle Smith.

Left to cherish his memory is his beautiful wife of 56 years, Kathryn "Kit" Jones. From their union he leaves three loving daughters whom he referred to as his "gang," Angela Shaw (Bernard Shaw-son-in law), Tamara Jones, and Kimberly Smith (Danny Smith -son-in-law). Six grandchildren that adore him dearly-Daniel Gore, Dominique Bass, Tara Gore, Kayla Smith, Angelena West, and Matthew Smith. Four Great Grandchildren, Daniel Darrick Gore, Chase Anderson, Iverson Bass, and Kai Bass.

Two beautiful sisters-Barbara Swinney and Donna Jones of Oakland California and a host of nieces, nephews, spiritual sons/daughters, extended family, church family, and friends.

Pastor Jones will be missed, but not forgotten. He has made his imprint in the hearts of many. His legacy continues to live on forever through all the lives that he impacted.
