Vera Fay Reece

Vera Fay Reece, a recent resident of Mansfield, Texas and long-time resident of Plainview, Texas died on May 27, 2017 at the Huguley Nursing and Rehab Center in Burleson, Texas.
Service: 1:30 p.m., Thursday at Blessing Funeral Home, Mansfield.
Vera was born in McAdoo, Texas in 1919 to John Thomas and Mary Lee Bilbrey. She was married to J. H. “Jay” Reece for seventy years prior to his death in 2004. Vera worked for the Plainview Independent School District for 29 years managing the school cafeteria at Lakeside Elementary. She was an accomplished quilter who made quilts for all of her children and grandchildren. Vera is survived by children John Harlon Reece, Minnie Christine Nash, and Wayford Gary Reece; sister, Johnnie Lee Wilson; eleven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and daughters-in-law Mildred “Midge” Reece and Susan Marie Reece. She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Alfred Don Reece; grandson, Jeffrey Bayne Nash; and sister, Flora Nell Boteler.
