Susan Gibson Livingston McLean, 65, passed away January 27, 2017. Susan was born to Lunsford Phillip Livingston and Mary (Gibson) Livingston on October 26, 1951 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Susan attended J.J. Persing Elementary and The Hockaday Preparatory School for her elementary education and graduated high school from Hillcrest High School in Dallas in 1969. Susan attended the Randolph Macon's College for Women in Lynchburg, Virginia and earned her Political Science degree at the University of Texas at Arlington. Susan spent the majority of her life in the Dallas area, however, she did return from Colorado Springs, Colorado in 2015 and settled back home in Dallas.
Susan was known by many names; Sue, Suzy, Susie, Susan, Momma and Gramyche. Her fun-loving and nurturing spirit drew people to her. If you were a friend to any of her kids, you became one of her kids for life. She was often referred to as a pied piper because of how easy it was for people to be drawn to Susie. She had a way of making complete strangers feel like family. Gramytche had a zest for life unlike any other. She had the unique ability to see the humor in herself and the world. Mom was a fighter. No matter what the world threw at her, Grave's, Cancer, Heart Disease, she kept trucking along. Susan's passions were her family, politics, exploring, reading, crocheting, quilting and jesting.
Susan is preceded in death by her parents and son Justin Frost McLean.
Susan is survived by her daughters Erin McLean Beck (husband Brad) and Mary Louise Cusic( husband William), son Phillip Livingston McLean, sister Molly Hobson (husband Rob), grandchildren Justin, Robert, Shelby Ann, David, Amy, Logan and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to invite, those who wish to attend, to a gathering at 5703 Buckeye Court, Arlington, Texas 76017 after the services at Blessing Funeral Home.
