On Tuesday, August 13, 2024 a cherished son, brother, father, and friend, Steven Todd Stacey passed on from this world. Born on February 18, 1982, Steven's journey began in Rankin, Texas, where he entered the world as a beacon of light and love to Steven Glenn and Vickie Stacey Hughes.

Steven's reputation preceded him not only as a graduate of Mansfield High School but also as a dedicated patriot who with valor served in the United States Air Force for over thirteen years. His commitment to duty and honor endeared him to all. During his time with the Air Force he graduated as a Top Graduate from tech. school at Fort Leonard Wood, obtained a certification from the Water Well Drilling Special Capability Pilot Unit Program, and completed his Applied Associates of Science in Construction Technology from Community College of the Air Force. He was a well decorated service member earning numerous awards and medals such as The Afghanistan Campaign Medal for Operation Enduring Freedom and The Air Force Expeditionary Service Ribbon while serving the First Expeditionary Red Horse Group;  Iraqi Campaign Medal for outstanding service in Operation Iraqi Freedom while assigned to the 332d Air Expeditionary Wing, Air Force Commendation Medal (second oak leaf cluster), Air Force Achievement Medal (first oak leaf cluster), 366 TRS "Excellence in Leadership" Award, and several marksmanship awards.

Those who knew him best described him as a jack of all trades with a passion for fitness, and an individual with a zest for life that was truly infectious. His interests extended far beyond the military - he found solace in the tranquility of fishing, the thrill of hunting, and the joy of spending time with his loved ones; especially his two beloved children.

In his lifetime, Steven cultivated deep and meaningful relationships, leaving a lasting impact on all who were fortunate enough to know him. He leaves behind a family that meant everything to him - his father Bobby Hughes (Heather Hughes), mother Vickie Stacey Hughes, son Weston, daughter Ava, sister Felicia Yandell, brothers Michael Stacey (Kristin) and John David Hughes (Paige Hughes), nieces Bailey Yandell and Raelynn Marks, nephews Kyle Yandell, Stetson, Levi, Tyler, Tyson, and Luke Stacey, Bobby, John David, and Wyatt Hughes. In this time of profound loss, may his family and friends find solace in the cherished memories they shared with him. Among those who have welcomed Steven into the eternal embrace of peace is his Papa, Duain Tyson, who shared a special bond with him.

Ushering him into his final resting place are pall bearers: Michael Stacey, Weston Stacey, Bobby Hughes, JD Hughes, Rick Bailey, Stetson Stacey, Levi Stacey, Russell Yandell, and Kyle Yandell. A graveside memorial will be held at 9 AM on Monday, August 19, 2024 at DFW National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that you donate to the Guardians of the National Cemetery Foundation.

Although Steven has departed this world, his memory will endure through the kindness he showed to all. In the comforting embrace of fond reminiscences, let us celebrate a life well-lived, a spirit that soared high, and a soul that touched countless hearts. As we mourn his loss, let us remember him not for his absence, but for the everlasting legacy of love and laughter he leaves behind.
