Stephen David Williams, at the age of 80, of Mansfield, TX, ran into Heaven to meet his Savior on Thursday, January 16, 2025. He was born in Pasadena, CA on March 9, 1944. His faith was the cornerstone of his life after receiving Jesus as his Lord and Savior as a young man. Steve graduated from Verdugo Hills High School and received a B.A. in Psychology from UCLA and a M.A. in Psychology from University of West Florida. Steve had a career with the U.S. Air Force and later with the Federal Civil Service as an Education Specialist. He was married to Diane Hancock on June 28, 1969 in Klamath Falls, OR. He was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather. He was a faithful member of Walnut Ridge Baptist Church. He loved views of the Pacific Ocean (his favorite spot was La Jolla, CA), as well as making connections with others because everyone had a story and he wanted to hear their story. He also had a great appreciation for good quotes. Two of his favorites were, “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened,” and “If I could sit across the porch from God, I would thank Him for lending me you.” He thoroughly enjoyed basketball (playing into his 60s), and he loved a good run, especially along the Chattahoochee River in Marietta, GA. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Alma Williams. He is survived by his wife, Diane Williams, of 55 years, his daughter, Misty Dawn Day of Benton, AR, his sons Darin and Kevin Wilson of Mansfield, TX; his five grandchildren, Calvin Day, Caelan Wilson, Hayden Wilson, Luke Wilson, and Sadie Day; his brother, Charles “Chuck” Williams of Gilbert, AZ.
Memorials can be made to Goodness Village, the non-profit hospitality ministry, that provided a home away from home for their family in 2011 while his daughter underwent cancer treatment. https://goodnessvillage.org/
