Stanley Dale Melton

December 1, 1960 — April 3, 2023

Stanley Dale Melton, 62 of Hurst, Texas, went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 3, 2023 with his devoted wife by his side. Stan was born to Bobbie Louise and Bill D. Melton on December 1, 1960 in Fort Worth, Texas. He spent his formative years growing up in Hurst and graduated from L.D. Bell High School in 1979. Growing up Stan played baseball and other sports but his passion from an early age was music. He was a lead singer and guitarist. His first band, Northern Exit, played at Rose Park, special events, and Mansfield’s hometown celebration. His band, Back in Time, played at Farr Best Theater and other special events.

Stan moved to Mansfield to start his family. He was an adoring father and later grandfather; a devoted son and grandson; and a wonderful Husband. For the last 40 years he was the owner and operator of Hurst Fire Equipment – a company his father originally started. He spent many years impacting people through mentorship at his church and church camp.

Stan met the love of his life, Jana Stout Melton, in 2019 and they were married November 1, 2020. Together they moved to Flippin, Arkansas to semi-retire with their menagerie of animals. Stan loved the outdoors, and enjoyed kayaking and fishing.

Stan is preceded in death by his father, Bill D. Melton and his grandmother, Virginia “Ponkie” Langford. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Jana Stout Melton; daughter, Morgan Melton; step-sons, Russell Rogers and wife Tracie, Jared Josserand, and Landon Walker; grandchildren, Mason Kyle Byrd, Reed Rogers, and Madison Newton; mother, Bobbie Louise Melton; mother-in-law, Jimmie Stout Wood and husband Terry; sister, Donna Gail Melton Fagras and husband Paul; Brothers-in-law, Dale Stout and wife Nan, and Mark Stout and wife Shannon; nieces and nephews, Coy Evans Fagras, Colin Fagras, Kristin Edwards, John Wesley Stout, Amber Sowell, Dylan Stout; and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, great nieces and nephews; dear friends; and his beloved dog Cash.
