Shirley Lou Morgan Anderson, 82, entered into eternal rest January 2, 2021 in Cleburne, Texas.
Shirley was born April 28, 1938 in Hamilton County, Texas to William Bradford and Gracie Morgan. In 1954, the family moved to Arlington where she graduated Valedictorian of Arlington High School class of 1956. She studied at Arlington State College (now UTA) and began working for the Vandergriff family at their auto dealership.
She was married November 22, 1962 to Billy Joe Anderson and the young family settled in Mansfield, Texas. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ and at the Mansfield congregation for 50 years. She had the loving heart of a servant. Shirley loved doing all kinds of sewing, needlework and crafts. Often gifting her creations to friends, family, and charities. Countless babies have been swaddled in blankets and quilts she made and many patients comforted by her pillows. For over 35 years, Shirley and Bill have been involved in the antique business. Shirley was an avid reader and a wonder at keeping up with dates, birthdays, and who is related to who. She kept in touch with her circle of High School friends and enjoyed traveling to meet them regularly.
Shirley is preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Billy J. Anderson, daughter Laurie Bailey and husband Mike, son David Anderson and wife Michelle, granddaughter Sydney Allison and husband Dave, brother Bill Morgan and wife Jane, and sister Cynthia Burkett and husband Randy. She was dearly loved and will be missed by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.
