Roger Alan Wittu, age 48, died unexpectedly Friday, June 10, 2016 in his repair shop in Kennedale, Texas.
Roger was born June 22, 1967 in Fort Worth, TX, grew up in Arlington, TX, and graduated from Arlington Lamar High School. He attained the rank of Eagle Scout and loved camping, backpacking, and canoeing. Roger was the true "jack of all trades" with a keen knowledge of all things mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical. For many years Roger had his own roofing business and installed roofs all across the country. Since he was a teenager he loved off-road motorcycles and for the past four years he worked part time at the Village Creek Motocross Track, announcing races and practices and maintaining all of the equipment used at the track. He was a good welder and had been welding on some heavy equipment the morning before he passed away. Roger was devoted to his family, and he was always smiling and loved to talk to anyone, having never met a stranger. Roger would give you "the shirt off of his back" and rarely ever said "no" to anyone. Roger was loved by everyone that knew him and will be tremendously missed.
Roger is survived by his loving wife of 25 year, Janie Wittu, sons Devin Wittu and Josh Sanders and wife, Hannah, daughter Carli Wittu, mother Judy Wittu of Fort Worth, TX, father John Wittu and wife Kris of DeSoto, TX, brother Spencer Wittu and wife Kim of Fort Worth, TX, nephew Gavin Wittu and three grandchildren, Brittany Wittu, Noah Sanders, and Madelyn Sanders, paternal grandmother Esther Wittu of Texarkana, TX and many other aunts, uncles, and cousins.
