Robert Richard Steensma

Robert “Bob” Richard Steensma, 85, of Arlington passed from this life on March 22, 2019.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 28, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Blessing Funeral Home 401 Elm St. Mansfield, TX 76063. A private interment will be held at a later date.

Bob was born May 30, 1933 to Doekle and Linda Rother Steensma in Chicago, Illinois. He entered the military in 1953 and served until 1955. He married Carolyn Hart on March 24, 1956 and they were blessed with 3 children. Bob went to work for American Airlines in 1952 and retired as Ramp Manager in 1995.

Bob was an avid collector of coins and baseball cards. He loved spending time with his family and especially enjoyed teasing with everyone. He was a great patriarch for the family and it was important to him to make sure everyone was taken care of. He loved sharing the things he loved to collect with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings Dewey and Ruth.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Steensma; children, Jim Steensma and wife Debby, Cheri Morgan and Bob Steensma and wife Danielle;
7 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren.
