Robert Donald Schaffner Jr.

Robert Donald "Don" Schaffner Jr., aged 71, of Mansfield, Tx passed away June 5, 2024. He was born June 25, 1952 in French Camp, California to Robert Schaffner Sr. and Violet Schaffner. He married Vicki Eaton December 3, 2020.

Don loved to collect and fly helicopters he built or decorated. His love for them started when he was a helicopter repairman in the Honorable United States Army during the Vietnam War. He received the National Defense Service Medal and the Vietnam Medal. He also received the Air Medal, which is awarded for single acts of heroism or meritorious achievement while participating in aerial flight. He was enlisted in the United States Armed forces from 1971 – 1973, spending 7 months in Vietnam.

Don is preceded in death by his father Robert Donald Schaffner Sr. and mother Violet Jean Schaffner.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory wife Vicki Eaton, children; Bryan Schaffner, Tammy Schaffner, Eric Schaffner, Melissa Bearman, Theresa Alberts, and Dustin Schaffner, 11 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, sister Sheryl Schaffner, brother Glenn Schaffner, and numerous extended family and friends.
