Robert Ashton Haynes Sr. passed away Sunday, March 5, 2023, in Arlington, Texas, at the age of 84. Born March 25, 1938, in Toledo, Ohio to Ashton Hunter Haynes and Margaret Wuerfel Haynes.
Bob graduated high school from DeVilbiss High School, Toledo, Ohio, in 1956. After graduating, he went to the US Navy Reserves active duty and became a first-class petty officer and electrical engineer. Bob married Donna Keller Haynes on June 10, 1967. They have celebrated 55 years of marriage. Since Bob was in the Navy, he moved around the country, living in Grosse Isle, Michigan, Glenview, Illinois, Brooklyn, New York, Jacksonville, Florida, Mt. Clemmons, Michigan, then retiring in Grand Prairie, Texas from NAS Dallas VR 53 April 1978. Since Bob retired from the military, they have lived in Pinellas Park, Florida, Burleson, Texas, Fort Worth, Texas, Keller, Texas, Mansfield, Texas, Irving, Texas and Arlington, Texas. After retirement, Bob worked in the Aerospace Industry at General Dynamics for ten years, Lockheed, Vought, Bell Helicopter, and Aerospatiale doing contract work. He enjoyed fishing, traveling and cruising.
His five children and spouses survive him. Pamela Ann Hebron and Mike Hebron of Arlington, Texas, Holly Anna Ford of Garland, Texas, Robert Ashton Haynes Jr. and Nicole Haynes of Keller, Texas, Gretchen Ann Koehling and Rob Koehling of Forney, Texas, Susan Ann Tittle and Don Tittle of Alvarado, Texas. Fourteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Brother-in-law Donald Keller and wife Cathy, Maumee, Ohio, sister-in-law Joyce Keller, Pinellas Park, Florida, and sister Kathy Haynes Baughman, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Mae Haynes, parents and in-laws, his brother Richard Haynes, brother-in-law Clarence Keller, and granddaughter Lelaina Tittle.
Visitation for Bob will be held Tuesday, March 14, 6-8pm, at Blessings Funeral Home, Mansfield, Texas.
Celebration of Life for Bob will be held Wednesday, March 15, 11:15am at Blessing Funeral Home, Mansfield, Texas. Burial will be held at DFW Military Cemetery, at 1:15pm, with full Military Honors with an escort by the Patriot Guard.
