Service: 3:30 p.m., Thursday at First Baptist Church, 1800 E. Broad Street, Mansfield. Visitation: 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., before the service. Memorials: Donations may be made to KAIROS-Estes Unit or to FBC Lillian Bicentennial Fund, in lieu of flowers.
Rick was born June 10, 1969 in Big Spring, the son of Charles and Carole Madry. He graduated high school in 1987 from Forsan High in Forsan. He received his Bachelor's degree from Hardin Simmons in Abilene. He received his Master's degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth. Rick served as Pastor of First Baptist Church, Lillian for 15 years, was chaplain of the Lillian Volunteer Fire Department, taught at several schools in the area, a youth minister at many churches. He served as clergy for KAIROS Prison Ministry and was recently honored to be the state chaplain for KAIROS, served on the board of the Texas Patriot's Tea Party of Johnson County, participated in Camp Gladiator, served on the executive board of the Southwest Metroplex Baptist Association, and was a missionary to several countries. Rick was preceded in death by his brother, Steve Madry and by his grandparents, LeRoy and Tommye Hollingshead, of Big Spring.
Survivors: Wife of 16 years, Danna; children, Kristy Harper, Cheyenne Elkins, Destiny Hope; mother, Carole Madry; father, Chick Madry, both of Big Spring; brothers, Brad and Mike Madry, Ronald Joe "JoJo" Hope; and a host of cousins, friends and family all over the world.
