Richard Henry Matthews, Sr.

Richard Henry Matthews, Sr., also known as "Big M", went to be with our Lord and Savior on July 26, 2016.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 29th at noon with Memorial Service following at 1:00 p.m. at Blessing Funeral Home, 401 Elm Street, Mansfield, Texas. He will be laid to rest at Mansfield Cemetery on Cemetery Road.
Richard was born March 2, 1934 in Calhoun City, Mississippi to John A. and Lola Mae Matthews. He retired from General Motors, after 39 1/2 years of service. In 1956, he married Joyce Wilson. They celebrated sixty years of marriage. He was a devoted husband, father and grand father.
Richard was preceded in death by both parents, brother, John A. Jr. and daughter Charlotte Fulmer. Survivors blessed to be called his family include his wife, Joyce Matthews, son Richard Matthews, Jr., daughter Annette Crowley, daughter-in-law Julie Young, son-in-law Tracy Fulmer,
7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
