MANSFIELD -- Richard Glenn Calhoun, 62, went away Friday, Dec. 4, 2015 from Dallas to meet Jesus.
Celebration of Life: 2 PM Monday at Mansfield Church of Christ with David Gregersen and Micheal Felker leading the Celebration. Visitation: 6:30 to 8:30 PM Sunday at Mansfield Church of Christ. Inurnment: Inurnment will be at a later date in Sweet Home Community, Arkansas.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, you may remember Richard at Mission Lazarus/Honduras. Greenhouse Ministries, Murfreesboro, Tennessee, or any Christian Children's Home.
Richard was born in Hope, Arkansas on June 18, 1953 to Shirley and Delton Calhoun. He had several titles; President of Jamieson Manufacturing Company, Husband, Son, Brother, Deacon and Elder, but was proudest to be Dad, Daddy, Sheeshow, and Papa Bear. Richard will be remembered by extra special ones who called him Papa Bear, the nickname spoken first by Mckinley Sparks. He truly adored each and every baby that he held, blessed and taught God's love to. Richard was a member of Lakeside Church of Christ in Mansfield.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Calhoun and sister in law, Keri Calhoun.
Survivors: Blessed to be called his family, those remaining behind are: Father, Delton Calhoun and wife Gerri; cherished wife, Nancy Loe Calhoun; children, Devin and Kensey Calhoun, Whitney Calhoun, Haleigh Calhoun and Andrew McLean; Richard is thrilled to know that a grandchild will join the family next year; brothers, Steve Calhoun and wife Teresa, Dan Calhoun and wife Jodie; sister, Alesheia Calhoun and husband Tom; nine nieces and nephews; eight great nieces and nephews; a special mother in law, Lila Loe; also loved as family, remains his mentor of forty years, Ben Wallace and wife Kathy Wallace.
