MANSFIELD -- Ray McClendon, 82, was called home on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013. Memorials: Hospice and St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. Ray was born in Chockie, Okla., on March 20, 1930, the 13th child to Stand Waite and Elizabeth McClendon. Ray served in the Army for two years. Ray married Betty Lou Emmert on Feb. 19, 1954, in McAlester, Okla. Ray loved horses and was quite a horseman. He enjoyed his bird dogs and hunting with family and friends. Ray worked and retired from American Can Company. After retirement, Ray was a man dedicated to enjoying his family. Survivors: Wife, Betty McClendon; son, Michael Ray McClendon and wife, Cheryl; daughter, Karen McClendon Scott and husband, Brad; grandsons, J.B. Scott and wife, Ame, Travis Scott and wife, Jayme, Ryan McClendon and wife, Allison; granddaughter, Katye McClendon Harrell and husband, Brandon; great-grandchildren, Brayden Scott, Baylee Scott, Logan Scott, Jane Scott, Ben Harrell and Luke McClendon; brother, Roy McClendon; sister, Sybil McClendon Battiest; and many dear nieces and nephews and their children.
