Ray Edward Caudle, Sr.

April 23, 1939 — June 8, 2023

Ray Edward Caudle, Sr. was born on April 23, 1939 to Forris Temple and Virgie King Caudle in Gorman, Texas. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Dwayne Caudle and Harold Caudle, and his oldest son Paul Forris Caudle. Ray is survived by his sister Sheryl Caudle of Venus, Texas, his son Robert and wife Brenda Caudle of Waxahachie, Texas, daughter Patricia and husband Wayne Finley of Venus, Texas, son Ray Jr. and wife Melony Caudle of Venus, Texas and daughter Rita and husband Gary Shirley of Goldsmith, Texas. He is also survived by his grandchildren, who he thought the world of, Misty, Armanda, Kaisha, Troy, Josh, Britney, Lance, Tyler, Ray III, Trenten, Bricen, Kyra, Kyle, and Ella and his 15 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Ray grew up in Desdemona, Texas where he accepted the Lord as his Savior around the age of 10 years old. He started leading singing at Bible Baptist Church of Desdemona, Texas at the age of 12. He was a charter member of Trinity Baptist Church in Strawn, Texas where he served as the song leader for many years. In the last 14 years of his life, he was a member of Countryside Baptist Church of Mansfield, Texas.

Ray started working with Texas Department of Transportation in 1977 and retired in 1998. He excelled in the domino game of 42 and Moon. He taught his sons and grandsons how to play and wouldn’t let them win. Ray was known for his great personality and never meeting a stranger he was a jokester and loved cutting up with whoever walked in the room. Ray loved to give his grand kids and great-grand kids a hard time but he loved his Savior and family more than anything.

Ray entered into Glory on Thursday, June 8, 2023.
