Paul Gene Middleton, beloved Uncle and great friend to many, ascended into heaven on Sunday, December 18th, 2022 at the age of 95. Paul was born November 25th, 1927 to Herbert Ory Middleton Sr, and Lennie (Mudd) Middleton. Paul was a dairy farmer and rancher in Mansfield, TX during some of the most interesting times in America from the Great Depression to World War II. He was known by his family and close friends as “Potter”. He was loved by all that knew him. He had a beautiful smile that was frequently worn, the kind that radiated from within with a boyish twinkle in his eye. He loved a good joke and had a humorous quip about him. Along the side of his beloved brother, John Everett and “Potter” took care of the family farm and created their own dairy business known as the Middleton Brothers Dairy. In 2021, with the assistance of his Great Nephew, Herbert Ory Middleton IV, the Middleton Brothers Dairy was inducted into the Family Land Heritage Program by the Texas Department of Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller to forever be preserved in Texas History.
He is preceded by his parents; brothers, Melvin Middleton, Herbert O. Middleton, Jr., John E. Middleton and Billy C. Middleton; sisters, Jane Starling, Evelyn Brazil, and nephew, Bill Martin and niece Myra Gilstrap Middleton.
Paul leaves behind his nephews, Herbert O. Middleton III and wife, Kathleen Middleton, and Lonnie Gene Middleton. He is also survived by nieces, Francis Starling Boesch and Estella Martin; and numerous other great nieces, nephews and all his favorites who will miss him dearly.
