Paul Defreese Frederick 84, formerly of Elkhart, Indiana, died Tuesday, January 28, 2014 in Keene, Texas after failing health.

Paul Frederick was born September 20, 1929 in Goshen, Indiana, the son of Paul, Sr. and Maymie Noel Frederick.

He was united in marriage to A. Jane Frederick on September 21, 1950 at the United Brethren Church in Dunlap, Indiana.

Paul served in the United States Marine Corp from 1952 to 1954.

Paul worked for Skyline and the U.S. Postal Service both in Elkhart and later in Mansfield, Texas.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Mansfield. Paul was a lifelong active member of the Lions Club and had recently received his 50 year pin.

Paul is survived by two sons, Douglas (Michelle) Frederick of Kalona, Iowa and Timothy (Dawn) Frederick of Cleburne, Texas. Four grandchildren, Anthony Frederick (Gabe) of Kalona, Iowa, David (Amber) Frederick of North Liberty, Iowa, Kellie Frederick of Cedar Falls, Iowa and Jeremy Frederick of Cleburne, Texas. Three great-grandchildren, Isabelle, Liam and Cael. Two sister-in-laws, Betty Myers and Joann Frederick of Elkhart, Indiana.

Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Frederick, his brother, George Frederick and brother-in-law Richard Myers.

Funeral service will be Friday, January 31, 2014 at 9:15 a.m. at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, Texas followed by a celebration of his life at 12:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Mansfield, Texas.
