Para Louise Gaines, Sharp, Pasche
Para was born at home in Worth County, Georgia on January 5, 1929. She met her Savior face to face on February 18, the same day her daughter preceded her in death.
She was reared in Georgia where she attended elementary school and graduated from high school in Bridgeboro. After high school, Para met a young airman stationed at Turner Field in Albany, Georgia. She and L. C. Sharp were married February 9, 1946 in Doerun, Georgia. Para and L. C. had two children, a son, Curt and a daughter, Kay. Following L. C.’s retirement from the US Air Force, the couple returned to Texas to live in San Angelo. After a few years of retirement, L. C. passed away in 1973.
While visiting Curt and his wife Danise in Dallas, Para met John Pasche at Park Cities Baptist Church. They were married in San Angelo on July 10, 1982. After living in Dallas, Waco and Cedar Hill, Para and John moved to Watercrest of Mansfield in March of 2017. John passed away in August 2020 from complications following Covid.
Para was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Her interest in others endeared her to family and friends. Having grown up in the old South, she was a true southern lady exhibiting grace and kindness to everyone. Even having left Georgia in 1947, she still spoke with a southern drawl. Her faith was particularly important to her and she willingly shared it with others. A life-long Southern Baptist, much of her life centered around her church where she taught Sunday School for many years.
She loved to read, work puzzles, and play games. She was most happy when she was involved in doing something for someone else. During most of her married life, she worked in the home seeing to the needs of her family. She was an amazing cook, and her signature dishes were chicken-fried steak, coconut cream pie and sand tarts. She volunteered in various organizations including teaching English to international students to help them pass citizenship exams. She also worked as a cardio technician for 11 years at Shannon Hospital in San Angelo.
