Nellie King Munerlyn, peacefully answered our Lord's call to join Him in Heaven on Saturday April 24, 2021. She was 89 years old and lived a full life surrounded by her loving family. From the union of her parents Adolphus, and Lydia Hill King, Nellie was born in Tiller, Arkansas on October 9, 1931. She attended Wolf Project High School, and received a Master’s degree from Western Michigan University. She was married to Calvin Munerlyn on March 25, 1953 until his death in 2003. She never remarried, instead she devoted her life spending time with her family. Nellie retired as a Supervisor from the State of Michigan. She also was the President of the Missionary Board of Flint Michigan House of Prayer Missionary Baptist Church. She is fondly remembered as a very loving and devoted sister, mother, and grandmother, who loved cooking, sewing, and cleaning.
Nellie is preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Mabel McClendon, Gloria Williams, Vernell King, Matt King, Lee King, and Anderson “Butch” King; grandson, Archie Munerlyn; and great grandson, Daylonn Abron.
She is survived by her children, Barbara Beckley of Scottsdale, Arizona, Bernis Lee Munerlyn (Glenda) of Texarkana, Arkansas, Beverly Tyson of Atlanta, Texas, Jennifer Croom (Leander) of Flint, Michigan, Valarie Coulter (Ernie) of Arlington, Texas, Wanda Kay of Flint, Michigan, Kelly Munerlyn of Memphis, Tennessee, and Terri Anderson of Arlington, Texas; 18 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy King Wickware, Ethel Jones, and Eula McGee; brother, Albert King, and The Alma Street Family.
