Nadene Joan Reinders (Ferrer) passed away peacefully in her sleep in the early morning of October 13, 2020.
Nadene was born in Springfield, IL and grew up in the small farming communities of that area. She was the oldest of 7 siblings-- Gerald, Charles, John, Kathy, Margaret, Glenn and Melvin. Their parents were John Dietrich Reinders and Sylvia Poe.
Following a dream and a Time Magazine article about plentiful jobs to be found in Houston, Texas, Nadene moved to Houston in 1956 where she embarked on a career as a legal secretary for the company now known as ExxonMobil. Nadene retired from ExxonMobil in 1997, and relocated to Arlington TX in 2010.
In Houston she met Edwin Ferrer, then a student of architecture. In 1962 they were married in Antwerp, Belgium. They were divorced in 1966.
She is survived by one daughter, Andrea, son in law, Mike (Solek), two grandchildren, Michael and Sara, and one great-grandchild, Sophia (Nwokoma).
