Minnie’s life spanned 101 years and she saw a lot of changes in the world, from traveling in a covered wagon to California and Missouri to flying in a jet airliner to be at the birth of great-great grandchild. She spent many years picking cotton, homemaking and caring for her special and only grandchild, Rockie Gilley and other great grandchildren. Gardening was a favorite and she always had a long row of beautiful irises wherever she lived. If you ate dinner at her house there was always a skillet of cornbread and most likely some greens.
