Michael Brandt

Our beautiful, beloved son, Michael Jeffrey Brandt, went to be with Jesus on Monday, September 16, 2024. Michael was born on July 5, 2001 in Bedford, Texas. His sweet, dimpled smile and infectious laugh endeared him to many. A seven year cancer battle never once broke his spirit or his strong faith, and he made it his mission to enjoy life. He traveled to Italy, Alaska, many beaches, and various European countries where he explored ancient breweries and appreciated fine art. His favorite trips were to watch his brother’s baseball games. His passion for classic rock made him a perfect road trip co-pilot. He loved sports, especially baseball, basketball, and golf, and particularly loved coaching his brother and friends in a summer basketball league. 

An avid outdoorsman, Michael appreciated scenic views and every sunset. Michael loved to hunt at the deer lease, and recently learned to fly fish. Michael’s strength of spirit and unwavering positivity continued to amaze his friends and family even as he took his last breath. 

Michael is survived by: his father, Jeff Brandt, and stepmother Jennifer; his mother, Jennifer Reece, and stepfather David; brother Matthew Brandt, and step siblings Timothy Stallons, Katherine Stallons, and Jacob, Nathan, and Allison Reece; grandparents Sandra Hoover, Kathy and Frank Poldy, Ann and Roger Rupe, Carren Reece, and Mary and Joseph Ackil; aunts, uncles, and cousins who he loved dearly; and his beloved cat, Kitty, whose pictures filled his camera roll. 

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at 1:00 pm at First Methodist Mansfield: 777 N. Walnut Creek Drive, Mansfield, TX 76063. In addition, the service will be live streamed at www.fmcm.org/funerals. 

In lieu of flowers or gifts, a scholarship fund in his name will be established. Details on how to contribute will be shared soon.
