Mary Virginia Linn was born on August 20, 1918 and passed away peacefully at the age of 98. She grew up as the only daughter with 5 brothers in the Thomas family of Mansfield, where her grandfather and father were among the town’s first medical doctors. She attended college in Arlington, and then continued to Texas Tech where she met Robert Yoakum Linn. They eloped just before WWII and were happily married for more than 55 years, primarily living in Alvin, Texas.
Mary Virginia was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt. She was a friend to all who knew her and remained in good spirits until the end.
She is preceded in death by her siblings, husband, daughter’s husband Joe Ellard, son’s wife Sharon Wellborn Linn and granddaughter’s husband Patrick Finlay.
Survivors: children, Linda Ellard and Tom Linn; daughter-in-law Cheryl Puckett Linn; grandchildren, Robert Ellard and wife Donna, Ginger Day and husband Darrell, Ashley Finlay, and Hunter Linn and fiancé Kyla Phung; and great-grandchild Marissa Day.
