Mansfield

Mary G. Buttner, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend passed away on November 27, 2024 in Mansfield, Texas, at the age of 89. Born on November 9, 1935, in El Paso, Texas, Mary lived a life enriched by her deep family connections and a profound appreciation for nature.

Mary dedicated much of her life to various careers before her well-earned retirement, but it was within her family that she truly flourished. She always found joy and purpose in the company of her loved ones. Her children, Oscar J. Buttner, Jr., Therese Daiy, and Arlene Hubbell, and her grandchildren—Jeff Wilson, Jemma Garcia, Darrien Buttner, Katherine Daiy, Matthew Daiy, and Mary Daiy—were the radiant lights of her life. The bonds she forged with each of them were significant and lasting, filled with shared laughter, stories, and unconditional love.

Mary cherished her role as a grandmother, delighting in every moment spent with her grandchildren. The joy she felt was multiplied when she welcomed her great-grandchildren, Harper Wilson, Ryder Wilson, and Carson Garcia, into her heart and life. Each visit from them brought excitement and warmth, reminding her of the joy of new beginnings and the continuation of family traditions.

Aside from her dedication to family, Mary found solace in nature’s beauty and all things purple. She had a special fondness for flowers and clear blue skies and took the time to appreciate their elegance and simplicity, often reflecting on the peace they brought to her life. She also loved music and dancing.
