Marilyn Joyce Thompson, 73, of Mansfield, Texas, passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2014 in her home.
Marilyn was born on June 14, 1941 in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Harry Sims and Bernice Myrtle Bicknell Sims. She was married to Charles Donald Thompson. Marilyn was a retired packaging specialist for an industrial supply firm. She was a member of Community of Hope United Methodist Church in Mansfield, Texas.
Survivors include her daughter, Jeri Ann Williams; son, Steve Bivens; step children, Kathy Walker, Karen Taylor and Charles Thompson; grandchildren, Michelle Guzman, Sharolyn Johnson, Jeremy Williams, Shannon Young, Bryan Bivens, Jonathan Baker, Harleigh and Tyler Thompson, Tayley Taylor, Terrah Thompson and Owen Thompson; sister, Judith Singleton; brother, John Sims; and numerous great grandchildren.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Bernice Sims, husband, Donald, stepson John Thompson and sister, Susan Kay Mounce.
The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Erma Nash School Project in care of Community of Hope United Methodist Church, 1800 East Debbie Lane, Mansfield, TX 76063.
