Maria Holmes

Maria Holmes, resident of Arlington, Texas, passed away on January 6, 2024, at Mansfield Methodist Hospital at the age of 68 years.

Maria was born September 3, 1955, to her parents Pasquale J. Speranza and Rose Speranza. She was raised in Brooklyn and Queens, New York. Later in life Maria moved to Arlington, Texas where she started to teach children in pre-k. She loved working with children. Above all else Maria loved her family. She enjoyed Sunday dinners with her mom, dad and children. She also truly enjoyed taking trips with her husband on their motorcycle. They went to places such as Jones Beach, The Rockaways and many other places in Texas. She loved going to concerts and would attend various music and artists. She could not pass a yellow discount tag and loved getting a bargain. Maria was very loving and possessed a spirited personality.

Maria is preceded in death by her parents Pasquale J. Speranza and Rose Speranza.

Maria is survived by her husband Edward F. Holmes Jr., children Edward F. Holmes III and wife Mandy Holmes and Jessica (Holmes) Howard and husband Ed Howard, grandchildren Peyton K. Holmes and Patrick E. Holmes.

In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted for a college fund account to be opened in Maria's honor for her grandchildren.
