Malcom Eugene Pope, of Hurst, Texas, passed away Friday January 12, 2018 at age 91 after a prolonged struggle with Heart Disease.
Mr. Pope was born January 20, 1926 in Lillian, Texas to Malcom and Vernell Hallmark Pope. He grew up in the Lillian,Rendon and Fort Worth area. He served in the U S Army Air Force during World War II in the Asia -Pacific Theater and was on Okinawa at the end of the War. Mr. Pope was Honorably Discharged in 1947. After the War he was employed by Leonard Brothers and built many of their Holiday displays and was later employed by Bell Helicopter from 1952 until his retirement in 1986. He was a member of UAW Local 218. Mr. Pope was an avid Fisherman. He and wife Virginia traveled extensively in the United States visiting the National Parks and Monuments and frequently camped out. They spent most of their free time at their Lake House on Lake Quitman.
Mr. Pope was preceded in Death by his Parents, Brothers Don, Gerald, and Michael Pope and Sister Kathryn Pope Swearingin.
Mr. Pope is survived by Wife Virginia Romine Pope, his Sister Joy Pope Black and her Husband Richard, and numerous Nieces and Nephews.
