Luther H. Logan, 97, went home to be with Our Lord on Saturday, March 21, 2015, in Mansfield, Texas. Luther was living in Mansfield, where he attended St. Jude Catholic Church, after spending several years in Wichita, Kansas.
A Rosary/Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, March 29, at Blessing Funeral Home, 401 Elm Street, Mansfield, TX, 76063.
A funeral mass will be held the following day, Monday, March 30, at 11 a.m at St. Jude Catholic Church, 500 E Dallas St, Mansfield, Tx, 76063. Interment will follow the mass at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX, 75211.
Luther was born in Petersburg, Michigan, December 12, 1917. From there, he joined the army, where he proudly served during World War II. During his time in the service, he met and married Florence M. Garcia in San Antonio. They were married for 69 years.
After his discharge in 1946, Luther and Florence spent several years in Missouri, where they raised their children, Roxann and Kenneth. Luther worked, selling cash registers for NCR before becoming a data processing manager.
Luther is survived by his wife, Florence; daughter and son-in-law, Roxann and Joe Giangreco, of Gladstone, Missouri; son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Lora Logan, of Mansfield, Texas; sister, Donna Burt, of Dearborn, Michigan; several nieces and nephews in Michigan and Texas; four grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
