MANSFIELD -- Louis Harlan Hudson went home to be with our Lord on March 17, 2013. Service: 1:00 PM Thursday at Blessing Colonial Chapel, Mansfield. Visitation: 6-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral Home. Harlan was born June 8th, 1927 in the Ovilla Community of Ellis County to Mildred Erby and Lonnie Hudson. Harlan was preceeded in death by his parents, his sister Mauline Grant and Neita, his beloved wife of 50 years.
He attended schools in Waxahachie and joined the Navy in 1944. After being honorably discharged, he and Neita married in 1948. They were blessed with two Children, Terry and Dana Kay (Donna). Later making their home in Mansfield.
Harlan worked for TU Electric for 31 years and retired in 1987.
Harlan lived a very full life filled with lots of family vacations and family gatherings.
Two grandsons came later and were his pride and joy.
Harlan loved gardening, music, movies and just going to visit everyone.
His greatest joy was being with family.
He is survived by his son Terry Hudson of Mansfield, daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Brooks Brannon of Austin, grandsons Greg and Michael Chatham of Austin, many neices and nephews,
and his very special best friend Imogene Bourgeois and the entire Bourgeois-Dennis family.
The family would like to give our forever gratitude and love to those very special people who cared for our dad on his final night at home. Thanks to Covenant Hospice and our cousin Carol Ann Lyle.
