Lloyd Taylor

September 9, 1933 — May 12, 2016

Lloyd Taylor, dearly loved and cherished father and husband, died on 12 May 2016 in Fort Worth, Texas.
Lloyd was born, on September 9, 1933 in Pike County Kentucky, the youngest of ten children, to Rush Bege and Carrie Taylor. Having moved to Ironton, Ohio as a boy, he graduated from Ironton High School and attended Berea College before joining the US Air Force Cadet Navigator program in Harlingen, Texas. He married Anna Rose Kirk in 1956. They were together for 59 happy years, and raised 2 daughters, Alma Carrine and Renée, living in many places across the US and overseas. Lloyd served as a navigator during the Vietnam War, and retired from the Air Force in Fort Worth Texas, as a Major, in 1975. Lloyd was an active and valued member of Edge Park Methodist church, working with the church up until the last years of his life. He was devoted to his wife, Anna Rose, and stayed by her side, caring for her lovingly during her long illness, until her death in October 2015. Lloyd was a thoughtful, intelligent man who, always relaxed and convivial, understood the priorities in life. He cared for those around him, gave thoughtful advice and maintained an imperturbably positive outlook. He is sadly missed.
Lloyd is survived by his daughters Alma and husband Lee, Renée and husband Rob, and his grandsons Joey and Evan Ward.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and 9 brothers and sisters.
