Lindsey Allen Brite of Alvarado passed away on October 11, 2013 in Alvarado at the age of 61. He was born on September 23, 1952 in Maywood, CA to the late Lindsey and Elizabeth (Tillerson) Brite. Lindsey always had a strong belief in working hard to get to where you wanted to be. He served in the Army’s 101st Airborne Division during the Vietnam War. After leaving the Army he spent his lifetime making sure his family was taken care of, and he did it the good old boy way. Whether it was working 3 jobs, or taking his family on yearly fishing trips to Lake Texoma. Even when his children were grown he never stopped his role as a father. And when his grand-children arrived, he showed them all the love a grandfather could show. He never met a stranger and was willing to help anyone in need. He gave when he didn’t have and smiled when times were hard. His love to make people laugh was evident in his witty sense of humor. His family never wanted for anything because of his commitment to leading them with love. He loved his wife with all of his heart and kept his vowels with Kathy to the very end; in sickness and in health. He will be missed dearly but his spirit of love will continue through his family and friends. Lindsey was preceded in death by his parents, Lindsey Brite and Elizabeth Cornstubble; a sister, Barbara Jo Brite. Those left to celebrate his life are; his wife of 41 years, Kathy Brite; two sons, Bobby Brite and wife Jodie of Alvarado, Jerod Brite and wife Tamara of Burleson; a daughter, Rebecca Spivey and husband Randy of Alvarado; a brother, Richard Brite and wife Karen of Keller, TX; two sisters, Pam Trawick and husband Tommy of South Lake, Paula Turnage and husband Terry of Ft. Worth; as well as eleven grand-children. Visitation will be Monday October 14, 2013 from 6-8pm. Graveside services will be Tuesday October 15, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Bethany Rest Cemetery in Alvarado.
