MANSFIELD -- Leonora Nemecia Galaviz, 64, a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend, went home to heaven Monday, Oct. 14, 2013.
Service: Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Jude Catholic Church, Mansfield. Interment: Skyvue Memorial Gardens, Mansfield. Visitation: 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Blessing Funeral Home, Mansfield.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please make donations to either the UT Southwestern Medical Oncology or the Humane Society.
Nora was born July 1, 1949, to Sabas and Tomasa Zamarripa in Fort Worth. In 1969, she moved to Bay City, Mich., married her husband, Jose, and started a family. She worked for General Motors for 35 years before retiring back to her native Texas. She loved being with friends, dancing, traveling and spending time with her family, especially her three beautiful grandchildren. She will always be remembered for being a strong, courageous, caring and loving person who always gave of herself without asking for anything in return. The world is an emptier place without her contagious spirit.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sabas and Tomasa Zamarripa, and her husband, Jose Galaviz.
Survivors: Her children, Ron, Elizabeth and Rebecca; daughter-in-law, Kim; son-in-law, Bill; grandchildren, Natalie, Justin, Billy and another grandson on the way; siblings, Lupe, Jesse and Betty; her significant other, Evert Miller; her granddogs; and her loving dog, Abby.
