Leonitta Beatrice Myers, 90 of Rendon, went peacefully to be with the Lord on December 29, 2022. She was born to Lillie and Emil Psencik on August 28, 1932 in Smithville, Texas. She went on to graduate from Smithville High School.
Leonitta married her beloved husband, George Ed Myers in 1952 in the Kovar Catholic Church in Kovar, Texas. Together they had three children. George was in the service and they traveled all over the United States and spent time living in Okinawa, Japan with their children. After his retirement in 1969 they moved to Arlington, Texas and later in 1974 they settled in Rendon.
Leonitta worked with her husband and had many jobs through the years including working in the school cafeteria and as an Elf at Santa’s Workshop in the Parks Mall. She was a devoted mother to her children and later doting Grandma Lonnie to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She was an active parishioner at St. Jude Catholic Parish in Mansfield and St. Ann’s Catholic Parish in Burleson and devoted a lot of her time to the women’s group at the Church. She was also a member of the Knights of Columbus; she and George were part of the founding members of the Arlington Chapter. She loved playing cards and gardening and enjoyed spending time with her Kino group and playing Bingo with her friends.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, George Myers; daughter, Pamela Clary; parents, Lillie and Emil Psencik; and brothers, William Psencik and Edward Psencik.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter, Kathryn Wilson; son, Timothy Myers and wife Donna Arrington; grandchildren, Christopher Sutherland and wife Ginger, Kevin Sutherland and wife Brittany, Duane Sutherland and wife Janet, Gregory Clary and wife Nicole, Laurel Clary, Jillian Ross and husband Brandon, Timothy Sterling Myers and wife Melissa, Jonathan Arrington and wife Kimberly, Ryan Arrington, Michael Arrington and wife Chasity, Ira Wilson and wife Gina, Laurel Cruz, and Buffy Herrera and husband Robert; 20 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren with a third soon to arrive; sister, Gladys Kana; numerous nieces and nephews; and dear friend, whom she looked upon as a son, Danny Newton.
The family has entrusted services to Blessing Funeral Home in Mansifield. A visitation will be held, Tuesday, January 17th in the Blessing House from 6:00PM to 8:00PM and a graveside service will be held Wednesday, January 18th at 10:00AM at Calvary Cemetery in Mansfield.
