Leona S. Loughner, born on April 30, 1929, in Mount Savage, Maryland, passed away on February 6, 2025.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Hazel Gorden Swauger; her father, Albert Swauger; one sister; three brothers; and her beloved husband of 35 years, Alpheus Myers Loughner.
She is survived by her six children: Bonnie Green, Lois Dickel-Hull, Marlene Hedrick, Bobby Dickel, Leonard Loughner, and Todd Loughner. Her legacy continues through her 15 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
Known to all as "Mamaw," she embraced this title with love and pride. She made sure everyone knew her as Mamaw because she wanted to share the warmth and joy that name carried. Whether family or friend, she welcomed all with open arms and a heart full of kindness.
Leona found happiness in life’s simple joys—playing cards and spending time with friends and loved ones. Her presence brought comfort and laughter to those around her, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever be held close.
A visitation will be held on February 13 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Blessing Funeral Home, 401 Elm Street, Mansfield, TX. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside gathering will take place at 2:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home Cemetery & Crematory, 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75243.
Her spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
