Leona Mae Armstrong

Leona Mae Armstrong, 90, entered heaven’s gates and was granted her angel wings as she peacefully passed away at her residence in Mansfield Texas, Friday, February 12, 2016. She spent her final days at home surrounded by her family and friends. Leona was born April 26, 1925 in Boone, Iowa to Stacy and Bernice (Hildreth) Comstock. She was the devoted and caring matriarch of her family. She had a lifetime love for gardening, writing in her journals and her robust appetite for knowledge led her to routinely read the daily newspaper. She filled her spare moments by escaping into the works of Agatha Christie.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Donald Leroy Armstrong; siblings Ilene, Shirley, and Michael; daughter Hope, and grandsons Billy and Kris.
Leona is survived by her sister Janice; daughters Joy, Gay, and Jill; her seven grandchildren, Terri, Charles, Brian, Scott, Kelly, Kirk, and Karl Jr; 13 great grandchildren, Zack, Rachel, Brian, Kyle, Erin, Lily, Paris, Chase, Zoe, Jack, Kolton, Kennedy, and Ashton; and one great-great grandchild, Mark.
Memorial service will be held at 11:00am, March 1, 2016 at Riverside National Cemetery
