Lee Roy Ray, a beloved pillar of the Mansfield community, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2025, at the remarkable age of 97. Born on February 10, 1927, in Fairfield, Texas, Lee Roy lived a life rich with service, family, and faith.

His educational journey began at Fairfield High School, followed by earning a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of Houston. Lee Roy’s dedication to learning and service was unmatched, reflecting a life dedicated to helping others. He proudly served in the U.S. Army, further showcasing his commitment to his community and country. In civilian life, he was the heart and soul of Ray's Pharmacy Inc. for over 65 years, which he established in November 1954. His commitment to his work extended far beyond the pharmacy; he was a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, taught Sunday school, and held various committee positions throughout his life. He embodied the spirit of giving and support, becoming a cherished friend and confidant to pastors both local and abroad, and passionately contributed to missions in Venezuela and India.

Outside of his professional and spiritual endeavors, Lee Roy was a man of many passions. He found joy in sharing his love for Jesus Christ and The Plan of Salvation, not only with his family and friends but also with anyone he encountered. For many years, he actively participated in Gideon International Bible Inc., furthering his outreach and mission work. An avid outdoorsman, Lee Roy enjoyed crappie fishing, fly fishing, quail hunting, and elk hunting in the Colorado mountains. He embraced each sport with enthusiasm, teaching countless young ones the joys of the great outdoors and sharing tales of adventure in the beautiful Colorado landscape he cherished.

Among his proudest moments was witnessing the Texas Rangers win their first World Series, a moment he celebrated with fervor and delight.

Lee Roy was not just a remarkable professional; he was a devoted family man. He leaves behind his cherished children: Cynthia Isel and husband Jack of Mansfield, Danny Ray and wife Suzanne of Mansfield, Faye Clemons of Mansfield, and Mike Ray and wife Darla of Alvarado in addition to numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and even great-great-grandchildren. His legacy of love will continue to thrive in their hearts and in the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him. Known affectionately as "Granddaddy," he touched the lives of generations, offering wisdom, warmth, and unwavering support.

Lee Roy was preceded in death by his beloved wife of over 60 years, Tommie Anne Ray (McAdams), as well as his parents, O.K. and Reatha Ray, his sister, Sue Beasley, his brothers-in-law, Kenneth Beasley and Howard McAdams, and his son-in-law, Billy Clemons.

A visitation to honor Lee Roy will be held on January 7, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Blessing Colonial Chapel, located at 401 Elm St, Mansfield, TX 76063. His funeral service will take place the following day, January 8, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Mansfield, located at 1800 East Broad Street, Mansfield, TX 76063.

Lee Roy's life was a testament to love, faith, and service. He will be profoundly missed by all who were honored to know him, a steady light in our lives who brought warmth and joy to every moment shared.
