Laurence Joseph Giessuebel, born on January 3, 1943 in Newark, NJ, left this world on August 26, 2024, in Fort Worth, TX. He was a remarkable soul who graced the lives of many with his big heart and loving presence. Laurence was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose spirit will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Laurence dedicated over 20 years of his life to working in computer technology at Tandy Corp, where his keen intellect and commitment to his work earned him the respect of his colleagues. He also proudly served in the United States Air Force for 14 years, demonstrating his strong sense of duty and service to his country. While serving in the Air Force, he earned a Bronze Star as well as many other medals.
Laurence earned a Bachelor's of Science from Rutgers University, laying a foundation for his lifelong learning and curiosity. He balanced his intellectual pursuits with a love for adventure, particularly enjoying rides on his motorcycle and embarking on trips to Las Vegas that brought him joy and unforgettable memories. Larry joined his brothers Gene and Bill and sister Mary in Las Vegas every year.
Family meant everything to Laurence. He held deep affection for his beloved wife, Sondra, daughter Heather Neufeldt, and son Ron Gonzales. He was also a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren, each of whom brought an immense amount of love and laughter into his life. Laurence shared a special bond with his son Ron, granddaughter Emily, and nephew David as they found common ground in their shared passion for guns, motorcycles and the thrill and found memories they brought.
Laurence’s love encompassed his extended family, consisting of several nieces and nephews, all of whom experienced the warmth of his heart and the kindness of his spirit. Though he has now been reunited with those he lost—his father William, mother Agatha, brothers William and Gene, sister Mary, and son Toby—his legacy lives on through the stories and cherished moments that will continue to be shared among family and friends.
As we gather to remember Laurence, a memorial service will be held on September 21, 2024, at Blessing Funeral Home located at 401 Elm St, Mansfield, TX, beginning at 2:00 PM. This occasion will serve as a heartfelt tribute to a life well-lived, honoring a man who loved deeply, lived joyfully, and shared passionately. His memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who loved him.
