Larry Gene Byars

Larry Gene Byars, 68 of Arlington, passed away September 1, 2022 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his children. Larry was born to Dorothy Anderson on April 5, 1954 in Amarillo Texas. He spent his formative years growing up in Amarillo. Later he enlisted in the Honorable United States Army on December 22, 1971; he served for six years including a tour in Germany and received the National Defense Service Medal before being discharged honorably on December 21, 1977. He went on to become a successful business owner before retirement.

Larry married Kathy Byars on February 15, 1988. Together they raised three daughters and two sons and later he became Papa to his eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Anderson; his wife, Kathleen Byars; and his two brothers, Lynn Marcus and Harold Alcorn.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his children, Chasity Fraiser and husband, Phil, Brandy Byars, Cheri Paroulek and husband, Clint, Kevin Cantu, and Ryan Cantu and wife, Rachel; grandchildren, Jackie Fite, Denzell Williams, Victoria Williams, Kassidy Day Hicks, Ryley Paroulek, Seth Paroulek, Landon Cantu, and Asher Cantu; great-grandchildren, August Williams, Kavin Galloway, Deandrea Galloway, and Zion Cunninghum and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
