In loving memory of Kwang Song Chu, an inspiring force who graced the lives of everyone he encountered, we sorrowfully announce his peaceful passing on June 18, 2024, at 81 years of age. Born on August 10, 1942, in the countryside outside Seoul, Korea, Kwang was an example to everyone on how to bear their responsibilities with dignity and purpose.
Kwang, a cherished son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend, leaves an incredible mark on the hearts of his grieving family. He is survived by his loving wife, Soon Chu, daughter Young Wheeler, son-in-law Sean Wheeler, and granddaughter Emilia Wheeler. Kwang is preceded in death by his father, mother, brother, brother-in-law, son, and his grandson Preston Wheeler. Kwang’s departure has left a void in the hearts of his friends and family that can never be filled, but the memories he left behind will be eternally treasured.
Kwang had a vivacious spirit and a call to action that inspired all whose lives crossed his path. The family of Kwang Chu warmly invites those who knew and loved him to join in commemorating his remarkable life. Funeral services will be held on June 22 at Blessing Colonial at 2 PM (CT), with burial to follow.
This ceremony is an opportunity to reflect on Kwang’s vibrant spirit and honor the profound impact he brought into our lives. While we mourn the loss of this great man, we find solace in the belief that he now rests in peace, watching over us from above. May Kwang’s soul find eternal serenity, and may his memory continue to inspire love, warmth, and resilience in our hearts.
