Kenneth Hopkins passed away August 12, 2019 at home in Kennedale, TX. He was born to David Houston and Susie Mae (Parsons) Hopkins on November 14, 1934 in Waxahachie, TX.
He grew up in Mansfield with a close family of three sisters and two brothers. Kenneth attended Mansfield High School. From a young age, he loved cars and working on them.
After school, Kenneth enlisted in the United States Army, serving his country, in Germany, from 1957 to 1959. Returning home, Kenneth married the love of his life, Doris Ann Moore, in 1962 to begin a devoted marriage spanning 57 years.
Kenneth’s trade was as a mechanic, opening Hopkins Automotive in 1974 and retiring in 1985. Retirement years were spent in East Texas. Kenneth always loved working in his yard and gardening.
Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents, siblings D.H. Hopkins, Irma Hooks, Virginia Williams, S.J. Hopkins and Joy Taylor.
Kenneth is survived by his wife: Doris; daughters: Rhonda Hopkins and Therese Jordan (husband Jeff); granddaughters: Erica Hay, Whittney Dool (husband Michael), and Brittney Warner (husband Jeff); and great-grandchildren: Kristen Snell, Kylie Hay, Brooke Dool, Nathan and Joshua Collins, and Jacob Warner.
Kenneth loved his family and watching his great-grandchildren play. Being a good friend to many, he was always ready to extend a helping hand to anyone in need. His kind and caring legacy will continue with all those that held Kenneth near and dear.
