Kenneth Blackwood

January 3, 1931 — May 25, 2015

Chief Petty Officer Kenneth E. Blackwood, born January 3, 1931, went home to his Lord on May 25, 2015 on Memorial Day. He resided in Grand Prarie.
A proud career sailor, he enlisted at the age of seventeen and served as a member of Underwater Demolition Team Four. His service took him to Canada, Cuba, England, Italy, Phillippines and Japan. Kenneth retired as a Fire Chief.
His second career of twenty years was at McDonald-Douglas in Long Beach, Calf. He retired as a Captain from their fire department.
Kenneth was a golfer, loved working with wood and a miniature ship builder. His cooking creations were amazing.
Kenneth was admired and respected by all who knew him as a loving family man. He loved his many dogs. Kenneth leaves behind the "Love of his life" wife of thirty years, Linda J. Blackwood.
Survivors: Sons Robert and Donald Reed, Daughters Allison Inman and Stephanie Blackwood, Grandchildren Danielle, Carl, Nicolas, Kaeleigh, Justin and Ryan Reed and Blaze Cox. Great-grandchildren Riddlee Reed; Sister Carloyn Koszegi.
